Suggested Reading

Check out these great books!
Students are able to check out books from my classroom library or the school library (as long as all fines and late fees are up todate). The local San Antonio libraries carry the books I have listed here also. I encourage every student to read for at least 20 consecutive minutes a day, even if it is from a magazine or newspaper. Years of research proves that students gain vocabulary, reading, and writing skills by practice and exposure to different genres of texts. Many of the novels listed are required reading throughout middle school grades anyway, and all have valuable lessons to share about diversity and equity that can better our community.
