Education

My freshman year of college I received a full athletic scholarship to attend Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. I went to school and played soccer there for one year before realizing I could not be away from good Ole San Antonio for that long.  I am an only child and being that far away from family was rough.

My Sophomore through Senior years I received another full athletic scholarship, this time to attend St. Mary's University here in San Antonio, Texas. I was very successful academically and athletically. I was on the dean's list twice. I played and started every single soccer game for the Lady Rattlers and was voted to team captain my senior year. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2001. Here is a picture of me my senior year ( I am the short one on the right).

I  graduated from Lamar University in December 2015 with a Masters in Educational Leadership Technology.   While attending Lamar University I took and successfully passed the principal certification test.

Experience

This is my 7th year as a Teacher at Terrell Wells Middle School. I love what I do, where I teach, the students I teach, and the teachers I work with.  I am certified to teach any of the core areas, but I specialize in Special Education.

While at Terrell Wells I have taught everything from Inclusion, Resource, Young Readers, Social Skills, and I am now the only Middle School Autism Unit teacher in Harlandale.

If there is an interest in Chess at TWMS, I am the teacher to seek out.  I also coach soccer.

Please feel free to email me anytime if you would like to discuss your child's progress or if you just have a quick question. You can also call me or set up a meeting with me during my conference period which is 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM.  I love talking to parents.  I believe the key to any student's success is the partnership created between the parents, teacher, and student.

I am a proud mother to three beautiful girls. My oldest, Jade, is a 7th grader here at TWMS! She is a fantastic soccer player, a killer on the basketball court, an even better chess player.  Where she really excels is in her academics!  Straight A GT student!

I have 7 year old fraternal twin girls, Jenna and Jocelyn who attend 1st grade at Bellaire Elementary.  They are a my sugar and spice and I constantly keep me laughing!

I also have an adorable 1 year old Olde English Bulldogge named Tank and a 2 year old Chihuahua named Kawhi.

                                                                     My Twins

Though my life is full and my days are jammed packed, I always find time to ensure all my students are successful and receive a quality education at TWMS. So my students will never look as stressed out as this little guy!
